Is Guitar Hero or Rock Band Better for Beginners?
This choice has always been hard and it got harder when Rock Band came onto the market, which music game is right for you? Now this choice is becoming even harder because both gaming companies are releasing even more games, so here’s a post to clarify the range of games you can get on the next-gen consoles.
Starting with Guitar Hero 2, this is the initially Guitar Hero game to be released onto the next gen consoles, only on the Xbox 360 though. This game may be very excellent, but, it only has a guitar career so I in person wouldn’t recommend it to beginners. I do reckon this game is a excellent buy if you are a fan of classic songs like Free Bird.
Guitar Hero 3 is the next game up, this one can be played on the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Guitar Hero 3 is very similar to the previous Guitar Hero 2, it’s an extremely excellent game, but it’s restricted by having only the guitar career. But, this game comes with the best set list out of all of the games, although less songs, but they are all fantastic so it’s a must have for any player.
The next couple up are Guitar Hero Aerosmith and Guitar Hero Metallica. Because of what I just wrote, these games are not ideal for beginners because you don’t get that wide array of songs like in the other games. Unless you are a real fan of the band, or a Guitar Hero fan, I wouldn’t recommend buying them.
Guitar Hero Planet Tour, now, this one was very well loved because it was the initially game to come with the full range of instruments, drums, guitar, mic and bass. But, I in person reckon it comes with a terrible set list. It’s full of ancient songs which is excellent for a family buy not solo play.
Guitar Hero Greatest Hits is the next game, but it’s also the latest released. In my opinion this game is the best for any beginner Guitar Hero player or even for an entire family. I reckon this because the sport set list is built from the best songs in Guitar Hero 1,2,3, 80′s and Aerosmith. This means that you get the best set list from all those games, plus the ability to play through the songs using any of the available instruments.
Now onto the competitor, Rock Band. The initially game they released, Rock Band 1, was very excellent, it had a fantastic set list as well as the introduction of the drums which are very well built. The game was very excellent beside the guitar controllers that they made, they were pretty terrbile. But, with the relief of Rock Band 2, this is a much better game austerely because it comes with an improved set list as well as some even better new features. Also, once you have Rock Band 2, you can buy Rock Band 1 and place all those tracks onto the Rock Band 2 game.
The only downside to Rock Band 2 is that in Europe you can’t get the improved instruments yet. But, these new instruments are being released with The Beatles: Rock Band later this year.
That’s not all though, Rock Band also has very excellent amount of songs that you can download. They have hundreds of songs available for download which are compatible with all the Rock Band games so you can continuously erect up a greater song list.
But, is Rock Band a excellent game for beginners? I would say no, but, it has to be the best game for any experienced player because it has a hugely expandable set list with new songs being released for download nearly every week.
Aslong as you get all the instruments for the game, I would say that Guitar Hero Greatest Hits is the best music based game for beginners.
