The Starcraft 2 Guide – Master The Basics
This is the Starcraft 2 guide specially made for new players. If you are new to Starcraft 2, completely new, this guide’s for you. If I can clarify the basics in a simple way, I’ll have done my job right.
Starcraft 2 fundamentally is not a hard game to master. You have to end your opponent, it costs minerals to do this. Those two concepts are in the end it. Everything else is about mining minerals and using those minerals to end your opponent.
You spend the minerals on more buildings and units. You use those unit to fight with your opponent and hopefully end everything he has built.
Now there are three races. A race is a group of units, buildings, and technology. A race is an entire species, that operates differently than the other two.
The three races are Zerg, Protoss, and Terran. Learn there names, you will be one of these races each time you play. Terran are the simplest for a beginner to know.
They all operate in there own ways, with their own buildings and units. But they all have to harvest minerals. In the end, there are two currencies in Starcraft 2, minerals and Vespene Gas. You’ll have to gather both for some buildings and units.
So, you are going to have to erect a lot of workers in order to mine all these minerals. Supply is a number that represents the amount of units you have. The more units you erect, the higher your supply counts go. You can also have a maximum supply count which you need to raise in order to erect more units.
This is where the battles start, and you’ll need to use your units to end your opponent. The battles require a whole new skill, which is labeled micro. Keeping your units alive and eliminating your opponents’ units is what the rest of the game consists of. For more advance information on the game, check out some Starcraft 2 secrets online.
