WoW Fishing Guide
WoW fishing is not only fun but can even earn you some excellent amounts of gold when done right. Although Fishing is unique it is a gathering profession like Herbalism and Skinning. You’ll see the best way to play the fishing profession in the following WoW Fishing guide.
Patience is key to WoW fishing just like real fishing. Just like the real thing, in Warcraft fishing you’ll spend a lot of time just waiting for something to take the bait. When you’ve caught something the bobber will dip, that’s when you need to quickly double click it! Aside from catching fish and other creatures you may get a lot of junk or even some really valuable items you can only get through fishing.
Fishing, like many other secondary professions, will go better with some primary professions than with others. For example, Cooking goes fantastic with fishing because by cooking the fish you catch you can make more gold. Irregularly you may catch bolts of cloth or even leather. These can be used for Tailoring and Leatherworking. The next thing in the WoW Fishing guide are the steps. To read more check out the WoW Fishing Guide
Here’s a list of some basic steps to guide you in WoW Fishing.
Step 1: Get a pole
To start just get a basic fishing pole. Fishing Suppliers or Trade Suppliers, located near water or fishing trainers usually, will sell them for around 23 copper.
Step 2: Find a Fishing Trainer
As you’d expect fishing trainers will be near bodies of water, but if you do need help just question a guard. The cost of training at the start will usually be 1 silver.
Step 3: Find water
Just about any body of water will do. Bodies of water can include pond, rivers, and lakes. Fishing spot with less noise and combat has 2 advantages. Firstly, you won’t have to engage in combat. Second, you’ll be able to hear the water splash when you make a catch.
Step 4: Equip Pole
Just drag the pole to the main hand slot in the character screen.
Step 5: Spellbook
For convenience place the fishing icon on your action bar. It’ll be in your Spellbook.
Step 6: Cast
Click the fishing icon to cast your line, the bobber will be in the water if you did it right.
Step 7: Reel In the catch
As I mentioned before once the bobber dips it means you’ve caught something. Double click the bobber. After the catch is reeled in just place it in the inventory.
As your skill level goes up, the amount of junk you catch goes down. Leveling is beyond this WoW Fishing Guide but there’re some brilliant ones out there that include maps. Some fishing spots will result in more junk than others. Focus mainly on getting the more valuable fish. Even though it takes longer you’ll earn a lot more gold.
